Sunny, a highly successful journalist, comes on board and repays the Mehras for sending him to Yale to study years ago. Ayesha is already miserable and further shaken when the family's business manager Amrish Uncle asks his son Sunny (Farhan), with whom Ayesha had a tumultuous past, to join the cruise. Meanwhile, Ayesha desperately tries to convey to her mother that she is deeply unhappy and thinking of leaving Manav, who now wants kids, but her mother abruptly cuts her off, says walking away from a marriage is cowardly and instead of chasing her career, Ayesha should focus on her family life instead. He invites her to his family lunch where his parents are shocked and scold him privately for bringing Farah. Farah says she is not allowed to get close to guests on board but she can't resist Kabir and they make love. They grow closer and take Pluto for a walk. He invites Farah to lunch and she finally accepts. Meanwhile, Kabir slips off seeking the mysterious stranger who, it turns out, is Farah, a chorus dancer on the ship. Noorie tells Kabir the truth about Rana and they plot to keep the facade of them dating going on. When Lalit talks about this with Kamal, the latter pretends it's a total surprise and is delighted. Her mother relaxes, thinking they will make a good match and even convinces Lalit Sood to think about investing in AyKa. They spend a night together but to placate her mother, who is over-anxious about Noorie, Noorie says she was with Kabir. The youngsters have drinks and Kabir and Ayesha's cousin throws up on Rana's shoes - Noorie bursts out laughing and Rana, who is initially upset, relaxes. Noorie and Kabir are thrown together too but instead, sparks fly between Noorie, who's been jilted once, and her enemy family's son Rana Khanna. Alongside, Kabir goes for a night-time swim where he meets a mysterious stranger (Anushka) and it is love at first sight, as the wise Mehra dog Pluto notes while narrating the whole tale. When Manav tries to make love to Ayesha, she first rejects him, then guiltily calls him back. Meanwhile, the tension between Ayesha and Manav is growing but only she seems to sense it. Later, Kamal tries to come close to Neelam but she sharply rebukes him, saying he needn't keep acting. Later, at the dinner, he makes a fulsome speech claiming how much he loves her and how all they lack now is a grandchild from Ayesha and Manav, making Ayesha feel awkward. On board, as they dress for their anniversary dinner, Neelam hopes Kamal will praise her looks but Kamal totally ignores her. She's trained herself to ignore this as well as catty jibes about Kamal's extra-marital flings. The family's friends spend their time on board criticising and gossiping behind Neelam's back. The other cruise guests include Manav and his hypochondriac mother (Zarina Wahab) who resents Ayesha's independence. They don't tell Kabir this but invite the Soods on their cruise too, where they confront their bitter enemy family, the Khannas. Later, his parents plot to get Kabir married to rich Noorie Sood, so that her father Lalit (Parmeet) will invest in their company. Over dinner, Kabir watches his parents squabble. Kabir's much loved plane is up for sale as facing bankruptcy, the family must reduce assets. Kabir gets stuck facing tough questions at a business meeting but his father helps him out. Kabir himself loves flying and dreams of becoming a pilot but his parents insist he must take over the family business as he is their son. Her brother Kabir (Ranveer) sympathises with Ayesha's hurt feelings but his parents don't listen. Their married daughter Ayesha (Priyanka), who runs a very successful online travel portal of her own, organises the whole trip but as she is married and her parents don't want people to think her businessman husband Manav (Rahul) might be paying, her name is not included on the invitation card. Kamal is facing business difficulties and to raise public credibility in his company AiKa's wellbeing, he and Neelam invite their socialite friends on a luxurious ten-day Mediterranean cruise. But in fact, Neelam (Shefali) is totally neglected by him but hides this smoothly socialising with her catty friends. Delhi-based industrialist Kamal Mehra (Anil) plays golf with his rich friends and boasts about his self-made business and loving wife Neelam (Shefali).
